Booths Garstang store is holding a party to celebrate its first birthday on Saturday 25th September.   The event will take place between 10 am to 4pm at the store at Cherestanc Square on Park Hill Road Road.

Nine of Booths’ local suppliers will be at the store with samples of their products for customers to try.  Shoppers will have the chance to taste a wide range of foods such as Moorhouse’s beer, Charbrew tea, cheeses from Singleton’s and Butler’s, Lathams’ cakes, Clayton Park Bakery pies and Wallings Farm’s ice creams.

Chef and home economist Rob Morris Lang will be at the store giving cookery demonstrations that will feature some of Booths wide range of local and seasonal produce.

Paul Guy, manager at the store says: “We’ve had a great year at Garstang and we really hope that lots of people will come along and join in our birthday celebration.   We’re all very proud of our relationships with local producers, so we’re very pleased that so many of them will be joining us on the big  day.

“It will also be great opportunity for our customers to sample lots of products they may not have tried before.”

Slow Food UK will also be on hand.  Booths and Slow Food UK announced a new partnership in the summer to promote the quality, provenance, seasonality and regionality of food. There will also be children’s entertainment outside the store with a free bouncy castle, free face painting, along with balloons and a jazz band.

The interactive zone in the store’s Cafe 1847 also provides a range of activities for kids including wall mounted touch screen education games.  There is also a free-standing mushroom play system incorporating four play modules for imagination and interaction and to encourage flexible thinking and problem solving.
