Two bottles of very rare single malt whisky have gone on sale in Booths Windermere and Knutsford stores.
Booths is the only mainstream retailer to stock the 1961 Glenfarclas Single Malt.
Priced at £400, only 110 bottles of the limited edition whisky were produced by the traditional family-owned distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland.
The 50-year-old bottle would make the perfect gift for a 50th birthday or 50th wedding anniversary present.
It would also set any whisky aficionados heart fluttering if they received it on Valentine's Day.
Four bottles of the whisky will be available – two in Booths Windermere store and two in its Knutsford store.
Booths spirits buyer Pete Newton says: “This is a rare opportunity for whisky lovers to get hold of a very special bottle of single malt.
“The 50-year-old malt isn’t even available to buy from the distillery so we’re thrilled to be able to offer four extremely lucky customers the chance to add to their collection this superb piece of liquid history. The Glenfarclas 1961 Single Malt is simply an unforgettable whisky.”
Glenfarclas whisky has been produced by the Grant family in Speyside for six generations. Each individual vintage remains in its original single cask until bottling which ensures the natural colour, taste and strength remains the same.
The 50-year-old malt is noted for its deep amber colour and big sweet character. It has an extremely long finish and is regarded as one of the best Glenfarclas ever produced.
Booths boasts an extensive range of 100 different malt and blended whiskies.
