We’ve Expanded our Free From Range

As you may have already spotted in stores, we’re pleased to announce we’ve expanded our range of free from products, increasing the selection available in all of our 28 stores. We’ve listened to you and dramatically extended the range, offering daily staples and special treats alike. Areas we’ve focussed on include dairy free, gluten free, soy free, lactose free, egg free, wheat free and nut free.

We’ve applied the same emphasis on local sourcing and quality to our free from range that we do our standard ranges, working with local bakeries and breweries where possible. Ilkley’s Love Brownies are producing decadent chocolate morello cherry brownies for us (we’ve tried them and trust us they’re AMAZING), whilst Kendal’s much loved Ginger Bakers, who pride themselves on being ‘creators of all things cake,’ have created a range of free from cakes and bakes including not one, but two celebration cakes – one in chocolate fudge and one in lemon and poppy seed. Gluten free beer from the North East’s Autumn Brew Co., Brewdog, St Peter’s and Peroni will also be available.

In addition to the brands you’d expect to find such as Newburn and Dr Schar, the extended range also includes artisan breads, focaccia, bagels and cereals, flavoursome soups, yoghurts and custards, chocolates, and world foods. Customers can try gluten free spaghetti and gnocchi made with green lentils, bake with gluten free flour, or experiment with delicious pasta sauces, pestos and curries from Bang Curry, such as Khulna Korma, Fiery Josht and Shobji Veggie.

We’ve seen a huge jump in the demand for free from products and superfoods. The influence of TV chefs like Helmsley and Helmsley and the healthy eating initiatives of chefs like Tom Kerridge and Jamie Oliver have really had an impact on our shoppers and it’s great to be able to provide such an exciting range of products to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

We understand that when one family member has a free from diet, that affects everyone, and we wanted to offer a range that everyone could enjoy, with no compromise on quality. This is a significant development to the Booths offer and we are proud of its exceptional quality.

The new range also includes a fabulous superfoods section, featuring spirulina, goji berries, hemp powder, maca powder, and a boost seed crunch.

We’ve tried to squeeze in as much as we possibly can, but some brands will only be available in larger stores.
