Autumn Wine Festival

Our Autumn Wine Festival is back with a sparkling new look! Refresh yourself with a full-bodied 25% discount on over 100 selected bottles of wine, with an extra 5% discount applied to purchases of six bottles or more (applied after any other discounts). The offer is available 04.09.17 – 01.10.17.

We’ve focused our attention on helping you to discover a little something different for your wine cellar this Autumn. As well as 25% off your favourites, our wine buyer Victoria has found some corking recommendations for you to try, whether your usual tipple is a rich and oaky white, or a ripe and fruity red – all included in the offer. Look out for our ‘Discover Something Different’ displays in store, designed to help you find your next favourite.

VictoriaEveryone has their go-to bottle; a trusty, dependable wine they can rely on for flavour and satisfaction. Our Wine Festival is about introducing customers to their next undiscovered favourite – whether you’re confident or cautious when it comes to wine, we want you to take advantage of the great savings on offer during the Wine Festival and venture out of your comfort zone.

We are highlighting some alternative choices with tasting notes and information on the wines in store and also have a selection of these wines available to taste throughout the eventenabling customers to make an informed decision if they are feeling adventurous. My recommendations include a fabulous Etna Rosso from the volcanic soils of Sicily, made from two little known indigenous grape varieties, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, which is elegant and full of perfumed red fruit.

Another favourite is Camel Valley’s Pinot Noir Rosé, a stunning example of how great English sparkling wine can be. The grapes are grown on sun-drenched slopes near the Camel River in Cornwall by family-owned, multi-award winning producer Camel Valley. I also highly recommend the Picpoul de Pinot Baron de Badassière, which is a lip-smacking white and the perfect bottle for bidding farewell to our English summer.

We’ll bring you three of Victoria’s recommendation each week throughout the festival, or pop in store and take a look down the seasonal aisle and look out for the ‘Discover Something Different,’ displays.

etna rosso

Lenza Di Munti Etna Rosso Was £9.95 Wine Festival Price £7.46

If your usual tipple of choice is an elegant and spicy red, Victoria recommends trying Lenza Di Munti Etna Rosso. Made from grapes grown near to Mount Etna, in very mineral rich soils, it has fresh acidity and real character.

camel valley

Camel Valley Pinot Noir Sparkling Was £29.00 Wine Festival Price £21.75

If you’re a big fan of rosé Champagne, then you must try Camel Valley Pinot Noir Sparkling. It’s a stunning example of how great English sparkling wine can be. The grapes are grown on sun-drenched slopes near the Camel River in Cornwall by family-owned, multi-award winning producer Camel Valley.

Badass

Picpoul de Pinot Baron de Badassière Was £8.50 Wine Festival Price £6.38

If a zesty, crisp white is your favourite way to wine down, try Picpoul de Pinot Baron de Badassière. Full of lipsmacking acidity and freshness from the South of France, it’s a perfect accompaniment to seafood and shellfish, and is great with rich cheese and charcuterie.
