Halal Meat Statement

All of Booths fresh meat is 100% British. In order to ensure a humane slaughter all animals are stunned first and are therefore unconscious and not subject to pain. Booths lamb receives a Halal blessing after stunning and before slaughter, and is therefore Halal. We do not, currently label it as Halal.

Our seasonal Saltmarsh and Herdwick Lamb, which is sold on our butchery counters is not Halal Blessed. More details on these regional breeds can be found on our website.

Booths beef, pork and chicken does not receive a Halal blessing and therefore is non-Halal.

We commit to actively lobbying the UK government to introduce a labelling scheme for all retailers and caterers to give customers clarity over what is and is not Halal.
