Know Your Sherry

Sweet to medium or dry, get to know your sherry — to know it is to love it!
Did you know that sherry can be used in cocktails as well as drunk as an aperitif or digestif? Once you know the style of the sherry you can start to experiment and create different cocktails with it or simply appreciate it on its own.
Cream
A full-bodied, velvety wine with well-balanced sweetness, made by blending Oloroso with Pedro Ximénez. Perfect served on the rocks as an aperitif.
Oloroso
Powerful, smooth and full-bodied, Oloroso sherries are intense and complex with a dry finish. They have noticeable nutty flavours, particularly walnuts, with dried fruits and spice.
Fino
Fino sherry is prized for its dry, delicate character. It carries subtle aromas of almonds, yeast, and fresh bread dough, with a touch of saline minerality and bright freshness, leading to a long, lingering finish.
Pedro Ximénez
An extremely rich, naturally sweet wine, Pedro Ximénez is made from the overly ripe grapes of the same name which are dried in the sun, ‘asoleo’, to obtain a must with an exceptionally high concentration of sugar.
Manzanilla
Made specifically in the town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Manzanilla is fresh and delicate on the palate with smooth flavours of chamomile, almonds and dough. Lively and fresh with a distinct salty note and a touch of bitterness.
Amontillado
A distinctive sherry, aged first under the veil of flor then oxidised. Aromas of hazelnut, herbs and tobacco lead to a dry, balanced palate with nutty depth and subtle oak. Perfect with mature cheeses, consommé, artichokes or cured ham.
