The Toffee Shop
The Toffee Shop started up in a small store in Penrith by Mrs Annie Furnass in 1910. Ever since then, The Toffee Shop has been dedicated to producing the world’s finest handmade fudge and toffee, with a passionate pride in what they do.
They produce confectionary renowned far and wide for its distinctive and heavenly flavour, which has even been tasted on royal visits to Penrith by the late Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H King Charles! Sticking to their roots, they have preserved the traditional recipe and methods created over 100 years ago, making all toffee and fudge by hand in brass pans on the premises.
The Toffee Shop has a great respect for the environment shining through in how they work by not using palm oil, and where possible source materials from the UK. Their boxes are re-usable and recyclable, and the inner wrappers are biodegradable. They produce very little food waste, making their fudge to order and even their toffee shards are sent to a local distillery to make toffee vodka!
They strive to do their best for everyone they work with, from wonderful loyal employees to suppliers and customers. They work hard to support the local community, through charitable contributions, local sponsorship and in the wider growth of the town.
