Cheeseburger Balls On A Stick

Ingredients

  • For The Burger Sauce:
  • 100ml mayo
  • 25ml tomato ketchup
  • 1tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 drops Tabasco® sauce
  • 1tbsp shallots, chopped
  • 1tbsp gherkins, chopped
  • For The Cheeseburger Balls:
  • 120g minced beef
  • 3 slices of mild cheddar cut into quarters
  • 1/4 iceberg lettuce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6 bamboo skewers

Instructions

Method

  1. Mix all the burger sauce ingredients together and keep to one side.
  2. Roll the minced beef into 12 small meatballs.
  3. Thread 2 meatballs onto a skewer and repeat the process until you have 6 skewers.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200°c/180°c Fan/356°F/Gas Mark 5.
  5. Place the skewers onto an oiled oven tray, season to taste and bake in the oven for 4 minutes.
  6. After 4 minutes carefully top the burger skewers with squares of cheese and bake for a further 2 minutes.
  7. Thread a chunk of iceberg lettuce onto each skewer and serve with the burger sauce.

Chef’s Tip

To stop the skewers burning, soak in water for 10 minutes before use.
