Currently the Chocolate, Sweets, Crisps & Cereals Buyer at Booths, I have worked for Booths for 10 years.

I have a 1 year old spaniel called Otto & enjoy climbing mountains, running & swimming in my spare time with my partner Greg.

How did you get into cycling – any tips for beginners?

I am a totally novice cyclist, I bought a road bike off market place in lockdown and have done a few rides, but nothing on this scale before.  My top tip would be just go for it, you don’t need all the gear to be able to ride a bike – don’t let the Lycra clad cyclists you see put you off, they were all beginners once!

What’s your favourite cycling snack?

Tribe Caramel Protein Flapjack – a 10/10 snack that tastes like a real treat.

What’s the one piece of kit that you need for a long ride?

Padded shorts!  The difference they make is phenomenal!

Why are you keen to support Cure Leukaemia by riding the London 2 Paris?

Over the last few years I have heard about the amazing work of the charity through various work events, to be able to take part in not just a physical but mental challenge all in aid of supporting a wonderful charity who make such a difference in so many people’s & their families is the real driver for me signing up.

Do you have a favourite memory?

There are too many to choose from!  However one of my favourite memories from the last couple of years, is walking the Coast to Coast with my Dad – a 195 mile walk from St Bee’s in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay on the Yorkshire Coast.  It was a real adventure and lots of memories were made along the way.  The feeling of accomplishment when we made it to the end was amazing & I am looking forward to feeling that again when we cycle into Paris in June.
