Each year on the 1st of August we celebrate Yorkshire Day by showcasing our wonderful local producers from the county. Whether it’s gorgeous landscapes, good food and drink, history and culture or a visit to Booths, Yorkshire has so much to offer!
Discover an insight into some of our producers from the county and learn more about traditional Yorkshire food and the brands breaking the mould by creating innovative kitchen favourites.
Jones Pies
Since 1988, Jones Pies have been crafting their selection of award-winning Yorkshire Classics. From their famous pies to sausage rolls and pasties, their team of skilled bakers and pie makers have become renowned across the county for creating a delicious taste experience for everyone who tries their bakes. After seeing local success, the brand grew in the best way possible – people simply loved their pies and couldn’t stop talking about them!
Nowadays, the team work six days a week to produce over 80,000 pies at their bakery in West Yorkshire, handmaking each one with quality meat and local ingredients so you can enjoy them too from our in store Delicatessen.
Littleseed
Innovators in rapeseed oil production, Littleseed was created out of a love for cooking and giving back to the environment. As the first regeneratively farmed cold-pressed rapeseed oil packaged in a paper bottle, sustainability is at the heart of the brand, with every drop of oil helping support soil health, boosting biodiversity, protecting the environment and supporting the future of farming and food.
Each bottle is made by gently squeezing the rapeseeds to get the oil out. The seed husks which are left are then turned into rapeseed meal for livestock so there’s no waste left and the oil is filtered and bottled to use for cooking. Rich in vitamin E and omega 3, the oil has a gorgeous golden colour and hints of nuttiness making it the perfect addition to your favourite recipes, including classic Yorkshire puddings.
Botham’s of Whitby
Local food is at the heart of Yorkshire, with many producers carrying iconic recipes across generations. One of those producers is Botham’s who have been making delicious treats for over 150 years in the coastal town of Whitby.
Established in 1865 by Elizabeth Botham, the company is now run by the fifth generation of her family who have continued to make traditional Yorkshire biscuits, buns, breads and brack inspired by the heritage of Botham’s. Now a part of Whitby’s history, they produce lots of tasty treats that you can find in store like their Yorkshire Brack which is a traditional tea loaf made with Botham’s own-blend Resolution Tea.
Longley Farm
After inheriting a Yorkshire farm in 1948, brothers Joseph and Edgar Dickinson first started producing cream in 1954 after World War II rations ended. With their cream becoming a huge success, the dairy branched out into making their famous cottage cheese in the 1970s and has since become one of the UK’s most popular dairies.
Longley Farm pride themselves on making quality products with simple ingredients, like using chives and fruits to flavour their yoghurts and cottage cheese. Now multi award-winning, they’ve recently been awarded three trophies and 30 awards across their range of creams, butter, cottage cheese and yoghurts at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards 2026. They also achieved Supreme Champion for their luxury Jersey Butter and Reserve Supreme Champion for their Crème Fraiche Epaisse at The Great Yorkshire Show 2026.
