Beer and Cider
Our unrivalled selection of beer and cider is a bottled celebration of the craft brewing skills that surround our stores in five Northwest counties. We have over 200 bottled beers, many brewed locally, and more than 40 great ciders. Our buyer has embraced a broad range of styles, from citrussy IPAs to dark beers for winter nights, and the more interesting the better.
Our local breweries include Little Valley, near Hebden Bridge, which makes beers with organic ingredients, and the Lancaster Brewery, whose robust Red bitter is a favourite. Our buyer is often to be found ‘helping’ brewers like Moorhouses at Burnley as they make the beer that ends up on our shelves. We also pride ourselves on a great cider selection, including some single-orchard and vintage gems from craft makers like Sheppy’s.
Beer and cider are at the heart of any British celebration, but we enjoy encouraging our customers to match them to food, too. Our in-store recipe cards often feature a beer or cider choice, and if you need help choosing the right bottle (or two) just ask – we really do know about beer.
