Our Autumn Wine Festival is now in store, save 25% on over 100 selected individual bottles of wine, with an extra 5% discount applied to purchases of six bottles or more (applied after any other discounts). The offer is available 04.09.17 – 01.10.17.
It’s the very last weekend of our Autumn wine festival! We sincerely hope you’ve taken advantage and tried a few new wines through our ‘discover something different’ theme. Our wine buyer Victoria has made it really easy to discover different wines you’re guaranteed to enjoy, by classifying the wines by their characteristics, such as ‘rip and fruity reds.’ Take a look at this week’s recommendations below, or simply browse our ‘Discover Something Different’ displays in store!
Colomé Torrontés, was £12.00 festival price £9.00
ideal if aromatic and zesty whites are your tipple of choice. Located in the Upper Calchaquí Valley in Salta in the far north of Argentina, not only is Colomé the oldest winery in Argentina, but it also claims to own the world’s highest vineyard. The high altitude means there is a large difference between day and night temperatures, ensuring a longer growing season which in turn leads to a more intense accumulation of flavour in the grapes.
Nyetimber Classic Cuvée, was £35.00 festival price £25.25
This is a beautiful English fizz that you’ll enjoy if you’re a fan of Champagne. Made in the same way as Champagne from one of the best English sparkling wine producers based in West Sussex. Only estate grown fruit is used to make this wine.
Barbaresco Corsini, was £15.00 festival price £11.25
Excellent if you enjoy delicate and fragrant reds. Delicate and elegant wine from Piedmont in north-west Italy. Sometimes eclipsed by its neighbour Barolo, this has less power and tannin so is softer but equally delicious.
