Spring has sprung, and plenty of you are now turning your attentions to the garden once more. We’re delighted to say that a nationally accredited, peat-free compost made from the garden waste of Yorkshire folks is now available in selected stores to help you beautify your outdoor space!

Made by North Yorkshire-based company Yorganics, it is produced using the green waste recycled by people living in North Yorkshire, City of York, Leeds, Bradford, Rotherham and Sheffield. Their waste is taken to local processing facilities, where it undergoes a rigorous and highly scrutinized 11-week process to turn it into a compost which meets the British Standards Institution’s PAS100 standard, a nationally recognised standard within the organics recycling sector. Yorganics is now available in all stores except for MediaCityUK, Barrowford and Chorley. Our buyer Tom said:

“We’re continually looking for ways to enhance our horticulture offering to customers, not only is Yorganics environmentally friendly but it’s also made in Yorkshire and we try where possible to support our local suppliers. It’s a great addition to the range and is proving popular with our customers.’’

Yorganics Field Sales Executive Sam Wright said:

“Having our peat-free, 100% recycled, local sourced compost sold at a highly-regarded retailer like Booths is a major boost and we are delighted it is selling so well and so quickly. Our nationally accredited product is ideal for domestic, horticultural and agriculture use. Because it starts life in peoples’ gardens and effectively returns there, it is an excellent example of closed loop recycling, which is so important as we strive to protect the environment.”
