Booths Clitheroe Celebrates 40 Years and a Fresh New Look!

Written on December 14th, 2023

Happy Birthday Booths Clitheroe!

Your Booths Clitheroe store turned 40 years old in 2023 and has recently received a fantastic face-lift, including a refreshed look, hundreds of exciting new products, more environmentally friendly fixtures and fittings, and the installation of Café 1847.

To showcase your new look Clitheroe store and to thank our contractors, suppliers and colleagues for their hard work on the renovations, we were delighted to host an evening of celebrations on 29th November.

Guests

With a fantastic guest list of over seventy local customers, press, influencers, councillors, store contractors and colleagues, it was an honour to be joined by The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Amanda Parker.

Each county has a Lord-Lieutenant, appointed by His Majesty The King to be his personal representative in the county. As such he or she represents His Majesty at events in the county and is responsible for the preparation of programmes for Royal Visits to Lancashire, for the presentation of awards to organisations (The King’s Awards for Enterprise and for Voluntary Service) and to individuals, e.g. the British Empire Medal, as well as advising on Honours Nominations.

A Warm Northern Welcome

The evening started with a warm Northern welcome in our brand-new Café 1847. Once the guests had arrived and enjoyed some light refreshments in the café, our Executive Chairman Edwin Booth shared a few words before our Executive Team hosted guided tours of the store for our guests, to appreciate the refurbished areas and new additions, complete with supplier and colleague tastings along the way.

In Café 1847 guests were able to sample our Booths teas and coffees alongside a selection of dishes from the Café 1847 menu. The supplier tasting stations around the store included Italian delicacies from Fratelliscila, whisky tastings from Speyburn, festive cake tastings by Cakehead, ByRuby frozen meals, Boxing Day curry and selected sundries by Rafi’s Spicebox, Cuckoo rum and gin and Bowland Brewery pilsner. Colleagues at our fresh look counters were offering tastings of delicious local cheeses and festive trimming pots, complete with pigs in blankets and stuffing.

At the end of the evening our guests left with a goody bag each, kindly stocked to the brim by our wonderful suppliers: Laura’s Confectionery, Mr Filbert’s, The Snowdonia Cheese Company, Raydale Preserves, Hip Pop Kombucha, Lindt, and McVitie’s.

Thank You

We’d like to say a big thank you to our suppliers, contractors, and colleagues for creating such a fantastic space at Clitheroe, and for contributing to the success of a wonderful evening.
