Team Booths round off a year of incredible fundraising with a day on the golf course

We’re proud to have raised a total of £11,000 in support of the MND Association and East Lancashire Down’s Syndrome Support Group.

On Tuesday 9th September, 19 teams of golfers took to the course at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lytham, all in support of two incredible charities.

Over the 24/25 year, Booths Central Office and some of their Lancashire stores chose to support the MND Association and East Lancashire Down’s Syndrome Support Group as their chosen charities.

About the charities:

MNDA

The MND Association works to improve access to care and support for people affected by motor neurone disease, their families and their carers. They help to fund vital research and offer information and advice on their website here.

East Lancashire DSSG

The East Lancashire Down’s Syndrome Support Group helps support the local community, regularly hosting meetups and activities as well as providing support for those with Down Syndrome. They also help to fund training for schools and new midwives so they can help better support those with Down Syndrome. You can find their website here

Golf Day

On the day, each of the 76 golfers were split into teams and taken around the course for a day of golfing, each hosted by a Booths colleague. To end the day, the teams sat down for a meal, followed by a charity auction where they were encouraged to make a donation to the charities for the items on offer, many donated by our wonderful suppliers.

We were also joined by representatives from each of the charities who discussed how vital is it to raise funds for such important charities and how the money raised from the event will help support their communities.

The event raised a total of £11,000 which will be split evenly in support of MNDA and East Lancashire DSSG.
