How to make the best Mezze:

The ultimate easy dinner recipe is a Greek inspired Mezze platter, perfect for summer BBQs or a quick weekend lunch. Here’s our must haves on a platter:

Dips:

Greek dips are arguably one of the most important parts, from Tzatziki to houmous a varied selection is a must have on any mezze board. Pair with warm pitta bread and Italian olive oil for the perfect combination.

Cheese:

While Greece may not be as famous for cheese as its Mediterranean counter parts, there certainly are some incredible choices that can’t be forgotten. Add grilled halloumi and crumbly feta to your board with a drizzle of hot honey over the top for a spicy twist.

Olives:

With areas like the Kalamata region, it’s no surprise that Greece is famous for their olives, whether you choose green, black or stuffed, they are an essential to have on your platter.

Wine:

Here are some recommendations from our expert wine buyers of their favourites from Greece:

Skouras Assyrtiko

This dry white wine has aromas of citrus, apples with mineral and saline notes. Made from Assyrtiko grapes, it’s crisp with a long and complex finish.

Thymiopoulos Xinomavro Jeunes Vignes

Made with the Xinomavro grape, native to Greece, this lively red has notes of red fruit and herbs. With a balance of freshness and elegance, this wine is ideal served slightly chilled alongside red meat dishes.
