Ran by sixth generation farmer, James Robinson, and his wife Michelle, Strickley Dairy is led with one purpose – to show that farming and nature can thrive together.
Their regenerative farming methods allow them to have a holistic approach, prioritising biodiversity and a strong ecosystem alongside animal welfare. After nearly 20 years free from artificial fertilisers or pesticides, Strickley have created a lively environment, boasting over 100 species of wildflowers in their meadows. They have also worked to create new habitats to encourage more growth and biodiversity, including new wetland habitats and ancient oak woodland which span across their 300-acre farm.
Widely recognised in the industry for their nature-friendly, sustainable dairy farming practices, their new organic whole milk is produced, processed and bottled at their brand-new dairy, just a few miles from Kendal. Hyper-local and fully traceable, the milk comes from their herd of Dairy Shorthorn Cows which are native to the North of England. They graze in the pastures and meadows which are rich in nutrients thanks to the regenerative farming techniques used, meaning they’re able to convert the grass into rich, creamy milk.
At Booths, we’ve worked closely with the team at Strickley Farm for over a year, seeing the process of creating their new organic milk and cream.
